St. Mary's School is proud to announce that their Odyssey of the Mind Team won a bronze in a regional tournament in March at Hudson Falls High School. The team displayed exceptional teamwork, dedication and creativity. For the second year, St. Mary's school sent a team to participate in the Region 6 tournament of odyssey of the Mind. This year, our team chose "Food Court", a problem which involves a humorous performance where all of the characters are food, and one character accuses another of something, and a "jury" has to indicate their guilt or innocence! The team worked hard and not only wrote a humorous skit, but has also made a colorful stage set, and vibrant costumes as well. In addition, they competed with spontaneous problems, which involved verbal and hands on problems, which they solved on their own (no coaches allowed in the room!) and they got greater points for creative answers. Our team was definitely creative! This year's team was coached by Sue Olszewski and Karen Collins. Please wish them the best for their tournament on March 6th at Hudson Falls High School. "Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program."
